The racist liberals who criticized Attorney General Gonzales’ patriotic defense of torture simply because he is Hispanic are at it again.
This time they’re exploiting the military’s announcement that they are investigating the deaths of 27 detainees killed after being taken into U.S. custody without serious injury to produce a typical cacophony of mild criticism. The liberals are crying that these deaths, at facilities ranging from Iraq to Afghanistan to Guantanamo Bay, prove that the administration’s guidelines for what I call “assisted confessions,” in fact amount to unacceptable torture, simply because they’ve resulted in a few deaths, or what I call “exonerations.”
Liberals- who have no understanding of history- have forgotten that time and time again, when Western civilization has been threatened, we have had to pull the kid gloves off in order to get the information we need. Had Europeans during the Black Death not realized this fundamental truth, they would never have succeeded in getting Jews to confess that they were responsible for the plague.
Liberal scientists today claim that fleas from rats were spreading the disease, but no flea ever confessed to the crime. A Jewish surgeon named Balavigny, among others, did when historically accepted techniques such as “stress positions” and “water-boarding” were applied. Now why would they confess unless they were guilty? If the liberals had their way, Europeans would have wasted their time bathing instead of engaging in bloody, but cathartic, pogroms during that dark period.

The same can be said of our own witch trials.
Liberals, who live in the past, love to decry witch hunts, forgetting that Wiccans did not emerge to threaten our way of life with their organic gardening and scented candles until well over three hundred years after Judge Samuel Sewall- the first liberal activist judge in our history- apologized for going a little overboard with the dunkings. Now why would those witches have confessed unless they were guilty? (Judge Sewall was also one of the first judges guilty of legislation from the bench. The full story can be found at http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/aia/part1/1p271.html). |
Our forefathers understood that the so-called rights of the accused didn't trump their right to life. Do we?

Faith-based assisted confessions
were also, of course, vital in confronting foreign religions during the Spanish Inquisition. (This is another thing liberals find offensive, even going so far as to decry even the slightest use of evangelism during coercion of prisoners, such as when guards at Abu Graib mocked their prisoners’ so-called “faith.” The traitors at the ACLU immediately started crying about persecution.) |

Now liberals are claiming that so-called torture victims are emerging with hearts hardened towards our liberation forces, if they emerge at all.
They claim torture breeds terrorism. Some even go so far as to claim that using the fear of death and suffering as a means to aid confessions is a form of terrorism, and that the confessions tend to be inaccurate as a result. But that’s the kind of liberal nonsense you’d expect from career FBI agents, who claim that they were “establishing relationships” with the prisoners before the CIA took over and showed everyone who’s boss. I doubt those FBI agents would be complaining if they were the ones strapped to the waterboard.
The truth is, if those 27 detainees died without confessing, that just proves their innocence. Their families can be comforted by knowing that they were not, in fact, witches. Or terrorists. Killing our soldiers in retaliation for their loved ones would just dishonor their memory and what they died for. Any non-liberal can understand that. And say what you will about our enemies in the middle east, at least they’re not liberals. |
Among the assisted confession techniques specifically approved over Donald Rumsfeld's signature were: Removal of clothing, use of stress positions, and use of phobias such as the fear of dogs. So why on earth are these soldiers facing prosecution?*
