in a Free Market society, the voter should be treated with the ultimate dignity- that of a consumer.  We believe that the role the market plays in politics is a vital one, because Democracy without the filter of private finance amounts to little more than the rule of the mob. 

As such, the American Center for Responsive Politics is designed to respond to the needs of our clients, and thereby to the needs of the American people.  Or at least those American people willing to commit to the support Our Great Cause(s). 

The American Center for Responsive Politics does not endorse the views, or even the existence, of the Center for Responsive Politics.  That’s why we’ve named ourselves the American Center for Responsive Politics- to help people understand that we love America far more than the Center for Responsive Politics.  We are dedicated to serving all Americans, while that other Center is dedicated to stopping Americans from contributing to the great political discourse in this country in their own self-interest.  We find the notion that Americans should not be able to buy their way into a seat at the table of governance is contrary to our sacred ideals of a Free Market.

Site Security and Identity Protection

We have strict policies in place requiring that anyone paying by IOU identify themselves.  In cases where a false identity is used, it is our policy to turn the full amount of the IOU over to a Collection Agency as it appeared originally and, if possible, in the name or other alias of the perpetrator.  It is then incumbent upon all parties to provide proof of innocence in the incurring of the debt to any and all Credit Reporting agencies.  That’s the American Way. 

Our basic service consists of writing and posting a piece which will then be forwarded to some of America’s most influential newspapers for consideration as an Opinion/Editorial (Op/Ed) piece under our title.  This makes your opinion seem much more valuable because it was produced by a genuine non-partisan Think Tank, which will of course obscure its financial connections to you. We also offer basic services, wherein we write cranky letters to the editor, as well as Premium Service, which generally involves untraceable donations to Political Action Committees.  There’s also Platinum Premium Service, which we prefer not to discuss in our overly litigious society. 

Payment

The American Institute for Responsive Politics accepts checks (preferably cashier’s checks), money orders, quitclaim deeds, and IOU’s.  Our PayPal account is still pending.  We do accept government moneys from any financially solvent municipality, state, or nation.  Please specify in the memo section of the check what specifically you would like us to advocate.  Orwellian code words are acceptable, as long as some sort of attached document explains what we are really supposed to be for.  (This will then be shredded.) 

1)      We are dedicated to wholeheartedly embracing any responsible viewpoint on behalf of our clients.  Any position a voter is willing to commit substantial financial resources to in a Free Market society is by definition responsible.

2)      If any attempt to divorce the political process from the people’s Freedom of Finance through so-called Campaign Finance Reform were to be made, we would be bound by honor to oppose it wholeheartedly, regardless of the financial implications for ourselves.  But for the ironymongers out there, we must emphasize that no such effort has been proposed, so are free to endorse any of the existing Campaign Finance proposals.  Donate away!
