The Results of Our 1st Annual Media Bias Survey

Our researchers spent a whole day researching liberal bias in the media. Our anecdotal evidence conclusively proves not only that bias exists, but that conservative commentators are routinely discriminated against.

We found two basic types of bias- bias of omission, where the media simply neglect to tell the other side of the story, was most common.  (Another example of this was found in the days after we released our findings, when no media sources invited us to discuss the study.)  After that was bias in images, in which the media insisted on showing images which might have undermined conservative messages.  Finally, there was the bias of comments made by liberal media members.

New York Times- Mentions President Bush in context of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama National Guard personnel and equipment in Iraq; does not even mention Democratic Louisiana Governor’s role in sending them there.

Chicago Tribune- Mentions Louisiana Guard units in Iraq, fails to mention that Democratic Governor of Louisiana had option to secede if she didn’t like it.

MSNBC commentator criticizes Bush for claiming no one anticipate the levees breaking, notes that Mr. Bill had made such warnings in PSA, but neglects to mention that Governor Blanco, not Bush, met with Mr. Bill on the issue.

No discussion whatsoever of how many more National Guard troops might have been required had Bush invaded a country that posed an actual threat to the United States.

The McLaughlin Group- Despite the presence of four conservatives in the Group, the camera repeatedly dwells on liberal Eleanor Clift trying to get a word in edgewise.

Criticism of Federal response to Hurricane Katrina fails to note that New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagel did not even attempt to Part the Floodwaters so that his people could flee.

CNN's Lou Dobbs scathingly criticizes the President for remaining on vacation for two days after the levees broke, but the notion that Gulf States were being punished for their iniquities, and that President was right not to interfere in God's judgment is never discussed.

Take break to watch the West Wing, a dystopian fantasy in which America is ruled by liberals. Martin Sheen’s real name, Estevez, not used. Is this because liberals hate Hispanics?

New York Times Editorial- Some very hurtful things are said about Attorney General Alberto Gonzales' qualifications to be a Supreme Court Justice. Liberals do hate hispanics!

AP Style Manual- Insists on referring to the Democratic Party, when conservatives prefer the pejoratively ungrammatical “Democrat Party.” When confronted about this, style manual editors agree to change name only if they can refer to Republican Party as “Repubican Party.”

Seriously, ABC's Terry Moran has this really weird expression whenever discussing the President.

Boston Globe- Keeps putting [sic] after “Democrat Party” whenever Republicans are quoted, like we were too dumb to know what we were doing.

"National Broadcasting Corporation" and "American Broadcasting Company" sound vaguely socialistic, and don't even let us get started on PBS.

On "The Daily Show," John Stewart says some very hurtful things about our President.

Pat Robertson, owner of one television network, allowed to pay for half-hour program on ABC Family. Are they trying to make us look stupid?
